    The starting point

    Why the usual answers do not work.

    Your insurance does not pay.

    Your policy covers theft. But a car that was handed over on a contract and never came back is not theft. So there is no payout. The loss stays on your books.

    The law is on the buyer's side.

    Because you handed the keys over voluntarily, once the car is resold an innocent buyer keeps it. A German court ruled exactly that (LG Neubrandenburg, 4 O 486/22). Before the sale you own a car. After it you own a claim against someone who often no longer exists.

    Time works against you.

    The car is usually for sale while the rental contract is still running. Nothing has been reported, there is no alert, and the papers the buyer sees are real. Every week you wait, the chance of getting it back shrinks.

    Locating requires a connected vehicle, in practice from around model year 2016. Where you already cover a brand through the manufacturer's own service, for example BMW and Mercedes-Benz, we complement it rather than replace it.

    Lawful basis

    You are the owner and the keeper. That makes it simple.

    Your vehicles, your decision. As the owner and keeper you are the controller under the GDPR. The lawful basis is your own legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f): protecting your property, securing missing vehicles, and preventing and detecting fraud. We process solely on your behalf as your processor under Article 28 GDPR. That is all it takes.

    Frequently asked questions

    No. A tracker is hardware that has to be fitted in advance. We read the connectivity the manufacturer built in at the factory. That is why it also works on vehicles nobody ever planned for.

    That is exactly the point. Manufacturer connectivity is part of the vehicle. There is no box under the seat to rip out.

    No. No hardware, no workshop appointment, no preparation. You send us the VINs, we check connectivity.

    The volume brands, in practice from model year 2016. Exact coverage depends on brand, model year and market, which is why we check it against your actual list rather than promising it in general terms.

    You are the owner and keeper and therefore the controller under the GDPR. The lawful basis is your legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f); we process solely on your behalf under Article 28. The assessment of the individual case sits with you.

    You are the controller, we are the processor. Instructing us to locate a vehicle counts as a documented instruction. If we consider an instruction unlawful under data protection law, we tell you and suspend it until the point is settled.

    We delete all personal data processed on your behalf within 30 days of contract end, or hand it over on request. We confirm the deletion in writing on request.

    In days, not months. There is nothing to install and nothing to integrate. Onboarding starts when the first invoice is paid, usually on the same working day.

    A monthly licence, tiered by the number of vehicles you submit per month. A setup fee applies depending on scope. The final quote is agreed in a short scoping call, cancellable monthly for the first six months.

    Then the ownership question is usually settled, and not in your favour: in a misappropriation case a good faith buyer acquires valid title. We can still locate the vehicle, which can matter for a criminal investigation. You can no longer get it back. That is why the time between non-return and resale decides everything.

    No. What we owe is the operation of the platform, not the outcome of a particular search. Whether a specific vehicle is connectable is something we tell you before the start. What happens after that also depends on things nobody can promise.
